The continuous evolution of therapeutic algorithms for retinal diseases offers significant promise for optimizing both functional and anatomical outcomes. Moreover, the integration of recently approved pharmacologic agents with extended durability, sustained-release drug delivery platforms, and emerging novel therapeutics has further expanded the treatment armamentarium. Lastly, therapeutic advances such as gene therapy, sustained delivery platforms, intravitreal regenerative and optogenetic approaches, compliment inhibitors, and agents that target unique pathways involved in the pathogenesis of retinal diseases are currently being evaluated in clinical studies. This rapid proliferation of therapeutic options presents a growing challenge for clinicians and researchers striving to remain current with the dynamic and complex landscape of retinal disease management. In this CE series, experts in the field review the latest evidence-based treatment strategies for retinal diseases, examining clinical trial data and emerging therapies for neovascular age-related macular degeneration (nAMD), geographic atrophy secondary to AMD, diabetic eye disease, and retinal vein occlusion. The series provides practical insights to support evidence-based clinical decision-making and improve patient outcomes.
